Composition

The Accident Appeal Board has a chairman, two deputy chairmen, three lawyer members and three physician members, as well as six members familiar with the conditions of working life and the labor market, half of them appointed on the basis of proposals by the most prominent federations of employer associations and the other half on the basis of proposals by the most prominent federations of employee associations. Furthermore, the Accident Appeal Board has three members who are conversant with the conditions of agricultural entrepreneurs, appointed on the basis of proposals by the most prominent federations of agricultural entrepreneurs. The chairman’s position is a full-time job while the other memberships are secondary jobs. The Government appoints the chairman for an indefinite period and the other members for a term of five years at a time. The chairman, deputy chairmen and members are responsible for their actions in the same way as court judges. In addition, the appeal board has an administrative section dealing with administrative matters.

The term of office of the appeal board is from 14 January 2021 to 31 December 2025.
